How Global Women's Week collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Global Women's Week is an initiative of Global Village Group, with Persian Awards as a key partner (together, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect through globalwomensweek.com and our programs, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with applicable privacy laws, including Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

  • Information you give us when you register, apply as a speaker, partner, volunteer, artist, exhibitor or media, nominate someone, or contact us: for example your name, email, phone, country, organization, professional title, biography, session proposal, photos and any files you upload.
  • Event information such as attendance, session choices and feedback.
  • Technical information needed to run the website securely, such as your IP address, browser type and basic usage logs. We use essential cookies to keep forms and sessions working and to remember your language and display preferences.

How we use it

  • To review applications and registrations and to plan, run and evaluate the program.
  • To contact you about your registration, session, schedule changes and important updates.
  • To publish speaker, partner and program information that you have provided for that purpose (for example your name, title, photo and biography on a speaker profile).
  • To send program announcements when you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam and abuse.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the organizing team, co-hosting and affiliated organizations involved in the specific program you apply to, and service providers who help us operate the website, email and events, each only as needed and under confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law.

What is shown publicly

Your personal contact details (email, phone) are never displayed publicly without your permission. Speaker and participant information is published only after confirmation and only the details intended for publication.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and application information for as long as needed to run the current edition and to consider you for future editions, and then delete or anonymize it. Photographs and recordings may be archived as described in our Media Consent & Release.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted administrative access and secure storage of uploaded files.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to communications, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time.
