Terms of Use

The rules for using globalwomensweek.com, its accounts, events, tickets and sponsorships.

Last updated: 25 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to globalwomensweek.com, to every Global Women’s Week (“GWW”, “we”, “us”) event, and to every affiliated event listed on the platform, whether online, in person or hybrid. By creating an account, registering for an event, buying a ticket, applying to take part, sponsoring, exhibiting, hosting an event or simply using the website, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. About Global Women’s Week

Global Women’s Week is an international celebration held every year from 1 to 8 March around International Women’s Day. It includes events organized by Global Women’s Week and its partners, and affiliated events organized independently by organizations around the world (“Hosts”) under the Global Women’s Week banner.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account (or the age of digital consent where you live). Anyone under 18 attending an in-person event must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless the event says otherwise.
  • Information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
  • You may sign in with email or with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn; we receive only your name, email and profile picture from those services.
  • Organizer and speaker pages are public. Other members choose whether their page is public or private. Following another member is public to that member.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or the Code of Conduct, that are fraudulent, or that put other people at risk.

3. Registration and tickets

  • A registration or ticket is a revocable licence to attend the event it was issued for. It is personal and remains our property or the Host’s.
  • Some events require the organizer to approve each registration; your place is confirmed only when you receive a confirmation email and ticket.
  • Tickets may only be transferred using the tools on the platform (where the Host allows it). Resale above face value, reselling through unauthorized channels, or using tickets for promotions, contests or sweepstakes without written permission is not allowed; such tickets may be cancelled without refund.
  • Promo and access codes are for the people they were given to, cannot be exchanged for cash and may be withdrawn at any time.
  • Please bring your ticket (on your phone or printed) and, if asked, photo ID matching the name on the ticket. Entry may be refused if a ticket has already been scanned, is counterfeit, or was obtained in breach of these Terms.
  • Capacity is limited. Admission to individual sessions, workshops or areas is first come, first served unless the event says otherwise, and is subject to venue and safety rules.

4. Prices, payment and refunds

  • Prices are shown before you pay and include any service fee shown at checkout. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your full card number.
  • For paid registrations that need approval, your card is charged only after the organizer approves you.
  • Each event shows its refund policy on the event page. That policy applies to your purchase. Unless the event page says otherwise, service fees are non-refundable.
  • If an event is cancelled and not rescheduled, you will receive a refund of the ticket price. If it is rescheduled, your ticket remains valid for the new date; if you cannot attend the new date you may request a refund within the period stated in the notice we or the Host send you.
  • Refunds are returned to the original payment method. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you incur.

5. Affiliated events and Hosts

  • Affiliated events are planned, run and paid for by their Hosts, not by Global Women’s Week. The Host is responsible for its event, programme, venue, safety, accessibility, tickets, refunds and legal compliance.
  • Listing an event does not mean we endorse the Host, its speakers or its views. We review event proposals and may decline, edit, unpublish or remove any listing, including one that breaks these Terms, the Code of Conduct or the law.
  • Hosts agree to the Host Program terms, to use the Global Women’s Week name and marks only as approved, and to collect and use attendee data only for their event and in line with applicable privacy law.
  • Where we collect payments for a Host, we pay out the Host’s share after the event, less the platform fee and any refunds or chargebacks.

6. Programme changes

Speakers, sessions, times, formats and venues may change. We and Hosts will try to announce significant changes as early as possible, but changes to individual speakers or sessions do not entitle you to a refund.

7. Photography, filming and recording

Events may be photographed, filmed, recorded or live-streamed. By attending, you agree that your image, voice and likeness may appear in these materials and that GWW, its partners and the Host may use them, without payment, to report on and promote Global Women’s Week in any media. If you do not wish to be photographed, please tell event staff; where available, look for “no photo” lanyards or areas. Unless an event allows it, you may not make professional or commercial recordings of sessions without permission.

8. Speakers, panelists and participants

  • When you apply to take part, you confirm that the information and materials you provide are accurate and yours to share.
  • If you are accepted, you allow us and the Host to publish your name, photo, title, organization and biography, and to record and share your session as described above, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
  • You are responsible for your content. It must not infringe anyone’s rights, be unlawful, discriminatory or misleading, or be a sales pitch unless the session format allows it.

9. Sponsors, partners and exhibitors

Sponsorship packages describe the benefits included. Package benefits, deliverables, deadlines, payment terms and cancellation terms are those shown on the package and in any written agreement; if there is a conflict, the written agreement prevails. Sponsors must supply logos and materials on time and must have the right to let us use them. We may decline any sponsor or material that does not fit the values of Global Women’s Week.

10. Conduct and safety

  • Everyone taking part — attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, staff and Hosts — must follow the Code of Conduct. Harassment, discrimination or intimidation of any kind is not tolerated, online or in person.
  • You must follow venue rules and the instructions of event staff and security. Bags may be checked. Dangerous items, illegal substances and disruptive behaviour are not allowed.
  • We or the Host may refuse entry or remove anyone who breaks these rules, without refund.
  • You attend in-person events at your own risk and are responsible for your personal belongings. Please follow any public health guidance that applies at the time of the event.

11. Content you post on the platform

You keep ownership of content you upload (photos, videos, files, text, comments). You give Global Women’s Week a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt for format and share that content on the platform and in promotion of Global Women’s Week. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, defamatory, misleading, sexually explicit, spam, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may remove content and accounts that break these rules. To report content, email info@globalwomensweek.com.

12. Our intellectual property

The Global Women’s Week name, logo, website design and content are owned by Global Women’s Week or its licensors. You may not use them without written permission, except that approved Hosts may use the “Affiliated with Global Women’s Week” mark for their approved event, following our brand guidelines.

13. Communications

We send service emails about your account, registrations, tickets, applications and events you follow; these are part of the service. Marketing emails are sent only where you have agreed or where the law allows, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

14. Events beyond our control

We and Hosts are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, public health emergencies, government orders, strikes, unrest, venue unavailability, power or internet failure. In such cases an event may be postponed, moved online or cancelled, and section 4 applies.

15. Limitation of liability

The platform is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Global Women’s Week, its founders, partners, staff and volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for the acts or omissions of Hosts, speakers, sponsors, attendees or venues, or for losses arising from affiliated events. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant ticket or service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

16. Indemnity

If you are a Host, sponsor, exhibitor or speaker, you agree to compensate us for claims, losses and costs arising from your event, your content or materials, or your breach of these Terms.

17. Privacy

How we collect and use personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. When you register for an affiliated event, your registration details are shared with that event’s Host so they can run the event.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply from that date; if you keep using the platform or attend an event afterwards, you accept the updated Terms.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Ontario, unless consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
