Balancing Career and Family Without Losing Yourself
8 September 2026 · Global Women's Week
'Balance' is often a myth — but intentional trade-offs are achievable.
The idea of perfect daily balance sets an impossible standard. A more realistic frame is balance across weeks or seasons of life — some periods lean harder into work, others into family, and that's normal, not failure.
Outsourcing and delegating what can be outsourced — at home and at work — isn't a luxury reserved for a few; it's one of the most effective ways to protect time for what actually needs your personal attention.
Protecting some non-negotiable personal time, even 20–30 minutes a day, measurably improves capacity to show up well for both career and family — it's not selfish, it's structural.
Quick tips
- Think in terms of balance across seasons, not perfect daily balance
- Delegate or outsource what doesn't require your specific attention
- Protect a small daily block of personal time — it's not optional overhead
